Finance Expert shares what Liverpool could earn from Champions League and Premier League

Liverpool could earn at least £248million if they win the Champions League and Premier League this season, Dan Plumley has said.

The Reds have been one of the most in-form teams in world football this season with Arne Slot’s men winning all six of their Champions League games thus far.

Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, the football finance expert broke down just how the Reds could earn that much money from both competitions.

“If you look at the Champions League and the Premier League separately and run some numbers, even on prize money alone if you go all the way in the Champions League and win it, you earn somewhere in the region of £95million,” he said.

“That’s before we add in the TV pot so that pot effectively is going to be north of £124m if a Premier League club wins it.

“So let’s Liverpool as the example as we are doing, and let’s say they earn £124m from the Champions League success, it’s going to be the same in the Premier League from TV broadcasting.

“We know that the top team in the Premier League takes home about £124m in broadcasting payments so when you put those two together, that’s at least £248m.”

Arne Slot could have the perfect first season at Liverpool

When Slot was brought in as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement, most fans likely didn’t know much about him.

Filling the boots of the German was always going to be a big ask for anyone who was going to come in.

But, since the start of the season, the Dutchman has proven his worth and has led the Reds to one of the best starts to a season possible.

They currently sit on top of the Premier League and while Chelsea are only two points adrift of the Merseyside outfit after Liverpool drew 2-2 against Fulham, Slot’s men are in the driver’s seat with a game-in-hand.

If the former PEC Zwolle player can manage to win one or both of the trophies this season, it would no doubt be the perfect way to start his Liverpool tenure.

Of course, there’s still a large chunk of the season left and plenty of time for things to change but at the moment, things seem to be going swimmingly at Anfield.

In other Liverpool news, another youth star could force his way into Slot’s plans after a successful EFL loan spell.
