Arne Slot shares injury update ahead of Liverpool v Fulham
Liverpool have been handed a huge boost as Arne Slot revealed that two players are set to return from injury for the Fulham clash.
The Reds host the Londoners on Saturday (14 December) hoping to maintain or increase their four-point lead at the summit of the Premier League.
Asked whether Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa are ready to return in his pre-match press conference ahead of the contest, Slot gave an encouraging response, saying: “‘I think they are.
“We have one more training session to go, Federico missed a lot for a long time, he was ill last week so we have to see how he is.
“Maybe Diogo is in the squad, maybe Federico as well but that depends on the numbers and how he’s recovered from his illness.”
Major boost for Liverpool front-line
The update is a major boost for the Reds attack and allows Slot to rotate his front three to keep them all fresh and firing.
Mohamed Salah has started every match in the Premier League and Champions League, only getting a rest in two EFL Cup matches, directly contributing to a staggering 28 goals in 22 games so far this season,.
Chiesa was supposed to allow Slot to rest the Egyptian more regularly but has only featured for a total of 78 minutes across three appearances for the club due to persistent injury issues.

Meanwhile, Jota has four contributions in seven league matches but has not played since suffering a rib injury in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea on 20 October.
His return is even more crucial with Darwin Nunez’s struggles in front of goal, the Uruguayan has scored two league goals and notched one assist in 11 league appearances.
The return of the two attackers should serve to help the Merseysiders in their bid for domestic and continental glory.
In other Liverpool news, goalkeeper Alisson Becker vindicated Slot’s decision in the 1-0 win against Girona.
