View: 100% Dominik Szoboszlai needs to bring Hungary form back to Liverpool
Dominik Szoboszlai must bring his stunning form for Hungary back to Liverpool when he returns from international duty after a quiet season so far.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a decent debut season under Jurgen Klopp but has so far struggled to make an impact in new head coach Arne Slot’s side.
The former RB Leipzig star has lost his place in the starting XI to Curtis Jones, who got the nod over the Hungarian in the victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa.
Liverpool need more from Dominik Szoboszlai
Talking about Szoboszlai before the victory against AC Milan in the Champions League [16 September], Arne Slot said: “For an attacking midfielder at Liverpool his numbers need to go up.”
However, so far this season, Szoboszlai has just one goal and two assists in 16 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
The attacking midfielder finished his debut campaign on English soil with seven goals and four assists in 45 appearances playing in a deeper number eight role but the move to a more advanced position has not had the desired effect so far.
In the 4-0 loss to the Netherlands on 16 November, Szoboszlai had two shots, created the most chances for either side with seven, and had a 100 per cent accurate long ball rate (3/3) in a very solid display despite the result [Fotmob].

Despite his attacking woes, he has excelled for the Reds at times this season with his defensive work so it is no surprise that he won 100 per cent of the tackles he made (3/3), made an interception, and made seven ball recoveries against the Oranje.
Compare this to the Premier League clash against Brighton on 2 November, the Hungarian failed with his only defensive action and only won 40 per cent of his ground duels – showing the difference.
Szoboszlai must bring his national team form back with him if he is to cement his place in Arne Slot’s first team and forge a successful career at Anfield.
