View: 10/10 Luis Diaz steals the show, 4/10 stinks – Liverpool player ratings v Bayer Leverkusen

Arne Slot continued his 100 per cent start for Liverpool in the Champions League with a 4-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Reds found themselves frustrated heading into the break on Tuesday evening [5 November] and fortunate Jeremy Frimpong’s strike was overruled for offside.

However, Luis Diaz provided the spark and scored his first hattrick for the Reds alongside a Cody Gakpo strike to secure a statement victory in the Champions League.

Here’s how Liverpool News rated each player out of 10 at Anfield, with all stats from Sofascore.

Liverpool beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0

Caoimhin Kelleher – 6

The goalkeeper had little to do on the night but sprung into action late in the second half with a remarkable double save to ensure Liverpool kept a clean sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold [off for Conor Bradley 81′] – 4

Trent has looked out of sorts as of late, and continued the trend in the Champions League, completing only 76 per cent of his passes, losing possession 16 times, and failing to find a teammate with 80 per cent of his long balls. A poor performance from the right-back.

Ibrahima Konate [off for Jarell Quansah 88′] – 6

Konate won 100 per cent of his two aerial duels but had little else to do in a dominant Liverpool performance.

Virgil van Dijk – 6

Van Dijk kept his side ticking by completing 95 per cent of his passes and 66 per cent of his long balls but not much to write home about defensively.

Kostas Tsimikas [off for Andy Robertson 80′] – 7

Tsimikas continued his stellar form for the Reds against Leverkusen winning 66 per cent of his duels, completing four interceptions, and completing 90 per cent of his passes.

Ryan Gravenberch – 7

There are only so many superlatives left to describe Gravenberch, 94 per cent pass completion with three key passes and one big chance created and he won 83 per cent of his duels. Dominant from the Dutchman.

Alexis Mac Allister – 6

Mac Allister was far below his usual high standards but performed admirably nonetheless, completing 85 per cent of his passes with two key passes.

Curtis Jones [off for Dominik Szoboszlai 73′] – 9

Jones had arguably his most impressive outing in a Liverpool shirt on the biggest stage. The 23-year-old completed 90 per cent of his passes with three key passes and one big chance created, assisting Diaz. He also completed 100 per cent of his crosses, 100 per cent of his long balls, 100 per cent of his dribbles, and won 80 per cent of his duels. What a night for the Scouser.

Mohamed Salah – 8

Salah failed to find the back of the net but continues to contribute to the Reds with two assists from 87 per cent completed passes with five key passes and two big chances created. The Egyptian continues to find ways to be a vital cog in this Liverpool side.

Luis Diaz – 10

A historic night for Diaz, he scored his first hattrick for the Reds with a 100 per cent shot conversion rate, and completed 88 per cent of his passes with one key pass. No doubt, his most complete display in a Liverpool shirt.

Cody Gakpo [off for Darwin Nunez 80′] – 7

Gakpo has been on a goalscoring tear for the Reds and continued to add to his tally with one goal from two shots on target against Bayer Leverkusen. The Dutchman did, however, lose 82 per cent of his duels on the night but still managed to get the job done.

Substitutions:

Dominik Szoboszlai – 5

Szoboszlai only managed four touches but hardly put a foot wrong for the Reds and completed 100 per cent of his three passes.
