View: Liverpool simply can’t let ‘Fantastic’ Alexander-Arnold exit Anfield in summer

Liverpool have found themselves in a rather sticky situation after allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to enter the final year of his contract.

The defender, as well as Virgil van Dijk and Mohammed Salah, has entered the final year of his deal with Liverpool and it’s left the Reds in a rather unfavourable position.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract is arguably the most important of the three as he’s one of the best right-backs in world football.

It would be a disaster for Liverpool to see the defender leave Anfield in general, never mind if they don’t manage to get a fee for him.

Real Madrid have been the team most consistently linked with a move for the Englishman [The Athletic] and Roy Keane believes that’s where he will be plying his trade next season.

There’s still plenty of time for negotiations to kick off of course but the Reds’ fans will no doubt want Liverpool to get a wriggle on before it gets too late.

Liverpool need to keep Trent Alexander-Arnold

Described as “fantastic” by former manager Jurgen Klopp, the right-back has been one of Liverpool’s most important players over the last few seasons.

His attacking prowess alongside his stellar leadership traits have helped carry the Reds through some tough periods.

Since making his way through the academy ranks and all the way into the first team, the defender has cemented himself as one of the best in the world in his role.

If Liverpool didn’t manage to extend his stay at Anfield and allowed the 26-year-old to leave on a free transfer, outrage would spark across the fanbase.

It would also leave Slot with a gaping hole within his first team and although Conor Bradley can do a shift covering Alexander-Arnold for the odd game here and there, he’s still miles off the pace when comparing the two over a full season.

Liverpool need to act fast and extend his stay, otherwise, they could find themselves with a massive problem.
