Liverpool set to join ‘elite status’ with £75m kit deal – report
Liverpool are set to receive £75million per annum from next season onwards as part of the deal for Adidas to become the new kit supplier, The Empire of The Kop reports.
According to the news outlet’s website [10 October], the Reds’ earnings from the five-year deal will put the club on par with Manchester United and Arsenal, also supplied by Adidas.
Nike has been the kit supplier at Anfield since the 2020/21 season, netting the club £60m per annum, but the partnership will end at the current season, with Adidas set to give Liverpool ‘elite team status’ -meaning the club will be considered a top-tier client.
Liverpool set to gain more revenue with Adidas
Adidas supplied some legendary kits for the Reds between 2006-2012 and their return as the club’s official kit supplier will be music to the ears of all Liverpool supporters.
Nike has served well over the past couple of years. However, Fenway Sports Group are eager to generate as much revenue as possible for the club and this move is the latest in a long line of astute decisions from the owners.
Both New Balance and Nike have served as the manufacturers during the most successful period for the Reds in the Premier League era with one league title, one Champions League title, one FA Cup, and two League Cups throughout their respective tenures.
The 2012 League Cup victory under Sir Kenny Dalglish was the only piece of silverware achieved by Liverpool during Adidas’ first stint, but more success should soon follow with a much more talented Reds side.

With the club set to join Manchester United, Arsenal, and soon Newcastle United as “elite team status” clubs under the German manufacturer, an extra £15m in revenue has been secured for the next five years.
That equates to a mammoth £75m, which supporters will of course hope is invested straight back into the playing side of things.
FSG continues to flaunt their financial prowess for the Reds which, paired with the host of commercial deals secured over the summer, shows Liverpool are making all the right strides towards further tightening their grip at the top of the football pyramid.
