View: Liverpool youth ace can follow Jarell Quansah blueprint at Anfield

Arne Slot will be tracking the progress of Amaro Nallo at Liverpool after his impressive outing in the UEFA Youth League.

The 17-year-old scored the winner in the 2-1 win against Bologna at the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday [2 October] and has become a regular feature for the U19s side under Barry Lewtas this season.

Nallo joined the Reds from West Ham United last summer, a month before Trey Nyoni switched Leicester City for Merseyside, and could be on track to follow the Jarell Quansah blueprint to the first team.

Amara Nallo has a bright future at Liverpool

Liverpool have focused heavily on domestic youth recruitment in the past few years with Rio Ngumoha joining this year from Chelsea [Daily Mail].

The 15-year-old was considered one of the brightest young talents at the Cobham Academy and is already plying his trade for the U21s side at Kirkby.

However, amid all the attention on Ngumoha, the Reds have another young centre-back making waves in the academy with Nallo and, he will certainly be on the radar of the first team after his heroics in the UEFA Youth League.

Slot ran the rule on Nallo after including the defender in his pre-season preparations before sending him back to his duties within the youth setup, where his development will be watched closely throughout the season.

Quansah is the prime example to the current crop of academy talent of the clear first team path available to those who impress at the academy, with the hectic European and domestic schedule ahead after the international break, there will be plenty of opportunities to impress.

Nallo must continue on this upward trajectory and, should the Reds receive a favourable FA Cup draw against a side in the lower echelons of the football pyramid, he could be handed his first team berth this season under Slot.
