View: Liverpool return to ‘unforgettable’ USA can aid bid to surpass £272m commercial mark
Liverpool will return to the United States in September to bring an ‘unforgettable’ series of unique events to New York City.
Arne Slot laid the foundations of his 100 per cent start to life in the Premier League with an identical record during the pre-season tour of the USA in July.
The Reds will return to the USA to host ‘The LFC Experience’ on 26-28 September with former players Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel in attendance.
Kate Theobald, head of global partnership sales at Liverpool, has recognised the commercial power of the Reds’ presence in North America.
“We are looking forward to bringing this unforgettable ‘LFC Experience’ to New York City this month to engage with our loyal fans and partners,” she said to the club’s official website [4 September].
“This region is one of our biggest international markets, and ‘The LFC Experience’ will provide a unique platform to amplify our reach and continue to strengthen our ties in the US, where more than half of our partners are now headquartered.”
Liverpool are eager to capitalise on potential USA commercial growth
Fenway Sports Group and the Liverpool supporters have endured a love-hate relationship since they purchased the club from the infamous Tom Hicks and George Gillett in 2010.
After a summer transfer window in which Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili were the only two arrivals, large sections of the fanbase have questioned FSG and their ability to match their ambition.
Modern-day supporters will be too young to remember the financial peril the Reds faced under the previous ownership and, should be grateful for Henry’s business acumen as he is on the verge of another financial masterstroke.

The Reds have 24 million supporters in the USA across 67 supporter clubs spanning 35 states and recorded a 14 per cent annual growth in merchandise sales.
Slot’s side is one of the most followed in the USA with more than 1.5 billion fan engagements and 11.9 billion social media views which is the most among all Premier League sides.
Liverpool broke records during their pre-season tour, the matches against Arsenal and Manchester United attracted the largest crowd to watch football in the respective states of Philadelphia and South Carolina with 69,879 and 77,559 spectators.
FSG are on track to surpass the £272m commercial revenue recorded for the 2022/23 financial year and long may it continue with the USA set to become a pivotal market in the financial long-term future of the club.
