Matt Beard receives boost with Liverpool Women second summer signing
Liverpool Women have confirmed the signing of forward Cornelia Kapocs from Linkoping FC.
The Reds confirmed the move on their official website [15 August] as the Swedish forward becomes the second summer signing for Matt Beard [BBC Sport, 15 August].
Kapocs joins the club after an impressive campaign last term where she scored 18 goals and will wear the number 7 shirt for the Reds.
Kapocs, who scored 18 goals last term in an impressive campaign will wear the number 7 shirt and, wants to help the side push on in the Women’s Super League this season.
She said: “I’m very happy and very proud to be here,” she told liverpoolfc.com. “I like the way the team plays and I also feel that I can grow and develop here as a player and as a person, so this is the right place to take the next step in my career.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and I can’t wait to get started and play in front of them.
“What the team did last season was amazing and I’m very happy to join this journey.”

Beard has delivered on his promise and has strengthened the forward line once again ahead of the 2024/25 WSL season.
The Reds identified the need for more goals in the side and will have another prolific forward in their ranks after the club-record signing of Olivia Smith earlier this summer.
Kapocs has been sensational in her native Sweden with 23 goals and two assists and has gained Champions League experience in her last 41 appearances.
It has been a quality-over-quantity approach for Liverpool this summer and their two new additions scored a combined 31 goals last season only five less than the Reds managed as a team in the WSL last term.

Beard is determined not to have last season’s fourth-placed finish be a fluke and is building a side capable of challenging Chelsea, Manchester City, and Arsenal this year.
Mia Enderby enjoyed an excellent U19 Women’s European Championship campaign with England this summer and, now the Reds, whose top goal scorer was Sophie Roman Haug with seven goals, have a wealth of attacking options to mount an attack on the WSL.
Liverpool fans are in for an action-packed season ahead of the new campaign and the football can’t come soon enough for the side, who now look like genuine title contenders.
