Anfield to host multiple Liverpool Women games in 2024-25

Liverpool Women are set to play three of their WSL games at Anfield this season.

Liverpool’s Official Website reported [6 August] that the three games to be played at Anfield are as follows: Manchester City (Sunday October 13), Manchester United (Sunday March 16) and Everton (Sunday May 4).

This not only shows that FSG are serious about strengthening the women’s side of the club but also shows that the club are fulfilling their promise to host more games at Anfield.

The Reds had one of their best finishes in the WSL last term after they found themselves residing in fourth place.

The Merseyside club were just 14 points away from the top of the table and only had a nine-point gap to break in order to finish in the top three places.

Whilst this might not seem all that remarkable when compared to the 2022/23 term, when the club finished in seventh, it shows how strongly the team have developed.

FSG have also broken the Liverpool Women’s transfer record this summer window to bring in former Sporting CP Women ace Olivia Smith.

Not only does this outline their intent for the season, it also shows that the women’s side will be heavily invested in this season.

In addition, the fact that Expedia has expanded their free transport scheme [Liverpool Official Website, 5 August] to cover all of the women’s games this season outlines the fact that Liverpool want to entice more fans into watching the women’s side play this term. It all makes for an exciting period for the side.
