Liverpool respond to Trabzonspor bid for Nat Phillips amid Championship interest
Liverpool have rejected a bid from Turkish side Trabzonspor for Nat Phillips according to BBC Sport.
Writing on their website (8 July), BBC Sport said the club have rejected the bid worth £4m and value him closer to £10m.
The Reds are in no rush to sell the defender and are confident of a club meeting his valuation who is attracting interest.
A number of Championship sides including Burnley are reportedly in the running for a move for Phillips this summer.
Liverpool demands would need Trabzonspor to break record
Trabzonspor would need to coff up a club-record transfer fee to prize Phillips away from Anfield.
The £10m valuation is just under double the £5.8 million they paid Spartak Moscow for Majeed Waris in 2014 (This is Anfield, 8 July).
A move for that price may prise him away from the Turkish top-flight but there is still plenty of domestic interest in the defender.
New Burnley manager Scott Parker is keen to reunite with the defender who he worked under at Bournemouth in the 2021/22 season.
Phillips has also drawn interest from Ipswich, Cardiff and German side Mainz.

The 27-year-old has been on the fringes of the squad since his heroics in 2020/21 after injuries left him as one of the club’s only senior centre-backs.
He has had loan spells at Stuttgart, Celtic and Cardiff as well as Bournemouth but is eyeing a permanent move away from Anfield.
Phillips is currently at the AXA Training Centre for pre-season but is unlikely to force his way into Arne Slot’s plans for the upcoming season.
The defender has made 29 senior appearances since his move from Bolton Wanderers in 2016.
He will go down as a cult-hero amongst Liverpool fans for his performances helping the club finish third in the Premier League in 21/22 and deserves to have his permanent future resolved this summer.
Phillips has entered the final year of his contract and will seek a move away from Anfield in search of regular first-team football.
