Liverpool transfer plans to be boosted by share of £119m UEFA windfall

Liverpool will receive a lump sum from UEFA following the efforts of players at Euro 2024, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

Writing on their website (4 July), the Reds will receive compensation from UEFA from the Clubs Benefits Programme.

The CBP compensates clubs from the £119million pot, based on how much time their players spend with their national team.

Liverpool have 10 players still competing at Euro 2024 in Germany.

Arne Slot could be supplied with additional Liverpool funds

Liverpool could earn a significant amount of money from their player’s participation at the European Championships.

The Reds are a ‘Category 1’ team in the CBP and will receive the most amount allocated, in Euro 2020 this meant £7,362 per-player, per-day.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson and Vítezslav Jaros have already earned the club £463,755 for their countries involvement in the group stage.

The payments are first made 10 days before the team’s first match at the finals and end the day after their elimination or the final.

Cody Gakpo Liverpool

The Netherlands has the most Liverpool representatives at the competition with Virgil Van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and joint-top goalscorer Cody Gakpo.

If the Netherlands beat England to reach the final and one of Portugal or France were their opponents, the Reds could stand to make approximately £2.8 million from their players.

That amount of money could be the fine margin the Reds need to get a deal over the line.

Liverpool are reportedly active in the transfer market after quiet few couple of weeks.

Slot has held talks with Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville and the club have spoken to the agent of Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida.

Should England fail to win the competition, the Liverpool hierarchy will have their fingers crossed for the Netherlands.
