Liverpool ready transfer for Chelsea youth star Ryan McAidoo
Liverpool are set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Chelsea youth star Ryan McAidoo, according to the Liverpool ECHO.
Writing on their website live blog (27 June, 19:14), Chelsea failed in a bid to persuade McAidoo to stay and he is heading for Anfield.
McAidoo made four appearances in the U18 Premier League for Chelsea last season.
He made his debut for the England U17 national team in March.
McAidoo turned down London for Liverpool
The 15-year-old turned down a move to London rivals Arsenal as well as Chelsea for a move to Anfield.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal put forward the best proposal for the talented midfielder.
But the plan reportedly changed when he made Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brother his agent.
The acquisition of McAidoo is an excellent coup for the academy.
He has shown promise at Cobham as one of the brightest stars in their youth setup.

Slot plans to work alongside Director of Football Michael Edwards and Sporting Director Richard Hughes and decide on the future of the club’s academy players.
Liverpool gave first-team opportunities to Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Jayden Danns and 16-year-old Trey Nyoni last season.
This pre-season will give the young players a platform to impress, with senior squad members away on international duty.
The Reds have a proven track record of developing young talent and have now added another potential star to their ranks.
In other Liverpool news, Arne Slot has made a new Fabio Carvalho decision already.
