Liverpool told to sign Leny Yoro quickly by Dan Bardell amid Real Madrid interest
Dan Bardell has urged Liverpool to move quickly to sign Leny Yoro from Lille this season to add centre back depth to the squad for the new season.
A report from Sky Sports (23 June) has suggested that the Reds will battle with Manchester United and Real Madrid for the 18-year-old’s signature.
An approach has already been made by Liverpool but with interest coming from elsewhere they will have to move quickly this window.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes they may have to overpay this summer to get him but may regret not doing it in the future.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, Bardell said: “It’s one of those deals where if you can do it now but you have to pay a bit more to get him they should do it if they can.
“You need at least four centre-backs in your squad, the emergence of Quansah is a plus but there is uncertainty with Van Dijk’s contract, Gomez has played as a full back and Konate has been injured a lot.
“It may look like they need a centre back from the outside but in 12 months’ time when it becomes a priority, Yoro might not be available and they’ll have missed out.
“There will be a worry there about how much he might cost I imagine.“
Liverpool told to sign Leny Yoro
Despite being just 18 years old, the Frenchman proved to be one of Lille’s best and most consistent players throughout the season.

For someone of his age, there is no surprise that there has been plenty of interest in signing him this summer from across Europe.
The Reds need defenders this summer especially with Joel Matip departing and Van Dijk being unsure about his future amid Saudi Arabia links.
Quansah had a great breakout season but when he is the most reliable option besides Van Dijk in terms of regular fitness, it isn’t necessarily ideal.

Yoro may not bring the experience that maybe fans may want to see come into Anfield this summer but it would be exciting nonetheless.
Interest from Real Madrid may be enough to turn his head away from Liverpool but there can be some hope.
