Liverpool transfer news as Reds eye Real Madrid duo Rodrygo and Arda Guler
Liverpool have “identified” both Arda Guler and Rodrygo as potential transfer targets from Real Madrid this summer, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The report (21 June) goes on to say that due to the arrivals of both Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this season, Rodrygo and Guler’s time on the pitch will be reduced.
It then goes on to claim that due to their lack of playing time, this has allowed a door to open up for the Reds this summer.
Why Liverpool signing Rodrygo or Arda Guler would be ideal transfers for Arne Slot
The 2024/25 season is one that will be full of change for Liverpool. Slot has now officially taken up his role as head coach and a new era has commenced.
As Reds fans will know, the club needs to make a few additions to their ranks this summer if they wish to compete for both the Premier League and Champions League.

Marc Guehi [Daily Mail, 18 June] and Leny Yoro [Mundo Deportivo, 16 June] are two names that have already been touted to join the club this summer as the Merseyside club are somewhat light at the back thanks to the departure of Joel Matip.
However, as fans will have seen towards the end of the season, Liverpool were lacking in the final third.
Although Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez topped the Reds’ scoring charts, they failed to produce as much towards the end of the term.
So, with the addition of Guler or Rodrygo in summer, the Reds’ attacking ranks would be bolstered tenfold.
This is certainly one for Reds fans to keep an eye on over the course of the transfer window.
In other Liverpool news, Jeremie Frimpong has been touted with a move to the Reds this summer.
