Fabrizio Romano shares Liverpool update as Leny Yoro waits on Real Madrid transfer decision

Liverpool are “not giving up” on their chase for Leny Yoro this summer amid recent links to Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The journalist took to X on 22 June and explained that although Los Blancos is Yoro’s preferred destination, the youngster is still waiting on the LaLiga giants to decide whether or not they wish to proceed with the deal.

However, the Reds and Real Madrid aren’t the only clubs being linked with a move for the youngster as both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also weighing up a deal.

Why Liverpool are still chasing after Leny Yoro this summer

To Liverpool fans, it probably seems unlikely that they’ll see Yoro in a Red shirt next season.

It’s evident that the 18-year-old has a desire to join Real Madrid, and, despite this being public knowledge, Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are both still chasing the defender.

That is despite the likes of Marc Guehi [Daily Mail, 18 June] being one of the many players linked with a move to Merseyside this summer.

It’s undeniable that Yoro is an exceptional talent and it’s clear to see why Liverpool want him within their ranks.

Indeed, the fact that Yoro has already played 60 games for the French sides first-team squad is hugely impressive and is likely one of the many reasons the Reds want to sign him.

In addition to this, he would be an ideal option to be mentored by Virgil van Dijk as the Netherlands international enters his twilight years.

In other Liverpool news, the Reds have enquired about Napoli star man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
