Liverpool to rival Chelsea and Manchester United for Crystal Palace ace Michael Olise

Liverpool have joined Manchester United and Chelsea in the transfer battle for Crystal Palace Michael Olise, according to Football Transfers.

The report (19 June) states that the Reds are “in the market” for a right winger this summer and that they’d prefer any business that they do to be under the radar.

Olise will only be allowed to leave the Eagles if his full release clause of £60million is met. The Reds see the winger as a successor to Mohamed Salah but a lack of game time in the 2024/25 campaign could make a deal “tricky.”

Why Michael Olise would be an ideal addition to Arne Slot’s Liverpool

It goes without saying that Olise was one of the best Crystal Palace players throughout 2023/24 as he managed a total of 16 goal contributions in the 19 Premier League games he played.

Although his season was littered with hamstring injuries, when fit he was arguably one of the most prolific players in the top flight in terms of both scoring and assisting teammates.

So it comes as no surprise that a plethora of teams are vying for his transfer this summer. His blistering pace alongside his flair both on and off the ball make the winger a hassle for defenders to keep out and make him a valuable asset to his team.

Although Liverpool have mainly been linked with defensive reinforcements this window with moves for both Marc Guehi [Daily Mail, 18 June] and Leny Yoro [Mundo Deportivo, 16 June] being discussed, Arne Slot’s attack also has some question marks around it.

Hence, why a move for Olise this summer could be exactly what Liverpool need in their bid for both the Premier League and Champions League titles.
