Liverpool transfer news as Fabrizio Romano shares update on race for Crysencio Summerville
Liverpool are still keeping a close eye on Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist reported via X on Saturday (1 June) that both the Reds and Chelsea have been monitoring the winger’s situation and expressed an interest in securing his signature over the last few weeks.
Although neither club have advanced talks yet, there is an expectation discussions will take place over the Leeds player’s future soon after Daniel Farke’s side missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
Writing on X, Romano said: “Chelsea and Liverpool are still keeping a close eye to Crysencio Summerville’s situation at Leeds United.
“Both clubs have been monitoring him this season and showing interest in the recent weeks.
“Nothing advanced yet but talks for the Dutch winger are expected to begin soon.”

The transfer window may not even be open yet, but the Reds will already be considering how they can add to their squad this summer to ensure that the Arne Slot era at Anfield gets off to the best possible start.
While Summerville has yet to show that he can consistently perform in the Premier League, his displays in the Championship have been excellent and there will be little doubt that he is capable of making this step up.
The Reds haven’t been afraid to buy from England’s second their in the past. Fabio Carvalho made the move to Merseyside after an impressive Championship season with Fulham and while he hasn’t managed to hit the heights expected of him yet, he’s still scored some important goals.
Hopefully, Liverpool will be able to beat Chelsea to his signature this summer. You would imagine that Leeds will have to lower their asking price as well having missed out on promotion back to the Premier League.
