Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota pre-season claim shared by Doctor amid injury woes
Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota is unlikely to be at 100 per cent until pre-season training, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he failed his fitness test against Aston Villa and will not be back to his old self for weeks.
The Portugal international has been unavailable for nearly half the season with an injury and he’s currently out with a groin issue.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Liverpool News 247: “He would not have passed the fitness test ahead of the Aston Villa clash and thus did not make the bench.
“It would take multiple matches for him to get close to 100 per cent fitness, especially with how many matches he’s missed this season.
“The season end has come at the wrong time as he would’ve liked to build his rhythm by playing games.
“He’ll have to do that in pre-season now which is weeks away.“
Diogo Jota has been impressive when fit for Liverpool
Despite Jota’s limited involvement this season, he has found the back of the net on 10 occasions in 21 league appearances.
He also bagged three goals in the Europa League and a strike apiece in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

It remains to be seen if Arne Slot looks to build this Reds side around Jota when he arrives in the summer.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp wants the Reds to sign this player in the summer despite the fact he’s on his way out.
