Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota injury update emerges v Aston Villa
Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota will require a late fitness test ahead of the Aston Villa clash on 13 May, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the Portuguese attacker’s day to day will consist of rehab that’s being targeted on his hip which has kept him out for a number of weeks.
The 27-year-old last played for the Reds in the 3-1 win over Fulham on 23 April.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Liverpool News 247:
“His day to day will consist of targeted rehab for the hip along with on-pitch work.
“If he is to return before the end of the season, would expect him to be in team training the days leading up to that match.
“The club may err on the side of caution here as they look to be out of the title race and firmly entrenched into the third league position.
“He’ll need a late fitness test v Aston Villa.“
Liverpool have missed Diogo Jota in the title run in
Jota is viewed as arguably the best natural finisher in the Reds side and his absence this season has been damning.
He has managed to make only 14 Premier League starts and has returned impressive numbers of 10 goals and three assists.

It remains to be seen whether or not he returns against Villa and even if he does, it seems unlikely that he’s handed a start.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp wants the Reds to sign this player in the summer despite the fact he’s on his way out.
