Salah to return and Klopp to make five changes – Liverpool predicted XI v Tottenham
Mohammed Salah could return as one of five possible changes to the Liverpool line-up for their Premier League clash with Tottenham.
The Reds were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw against West Ham United at the London Stadium last time out on 27 April.
Jurgen Klopp made a number of bold selection decisions that day, including naming Salah on the bench.
The departing head coach and his star player clashed on the touchline ahead of Salah’s introduction as a second-half substitute – but the pair are expected to put aside their differences as the Reds look to make up ground in a Premier League title race that seems to be getting away from them.
Mohammed Salah and the big guns to come back in for Liverpool
The rotated line-up Klopp named – presumably to make a statement after the 2-0 Merseyside defeat against Everton at Goodison Park on 24 April – did not provide the level of performance or energy the German would have been looking for against West Ham.
Following that disappointing showing, the 56-year-old is expected to turn back to the side’s more regular starters – including and especially Salah, despite the touchline dispute between the pair against the Hammers.
Salah remains Liverpool’s most influential attacker – he is the Reds’ top scorer and joint-top creator across all competitions with 24 goals and 13 assists in just 41 appearances this season [Transfermarkt].
Returning alongside the Egyptian should be the man who sits second on the list of the club’s top scorers and has matched Salah for assists – Darwin Nunez – with Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott making way. Luis Diaz should start on the left again.

Klopp could also overhaul the midfield that began the game against West Ham. Star performer Alexis Mac Allister should keep his place but could move into a deeper role and be joined by the energetic duo of Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones instead of Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo.
Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate could be offered a chance at redemption in place of Jarell Quansah after being dropped following a poor performance in the derby.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds’ goalkeeping coach John Achterberg is set to leave Anfield after 15 years.
