Liverpool: Finance Expert reacts to Pedro Marques news from Anfield with multi-club verdict
Dan Plumley has insisted that Liverpool are looking at their multi-club model ahead of the appointment of Benfica technical director Pedro Marques.
David Ornstein reported that Marques would work under FSG at Anfield if confirmed, with a key part of his job to acquire and oversee a second club in their network under the Reds.
The football finance expert admitted that FSG is a good example of the multi-club and sports model, with a big summer of tricky changes coming up.
“We’ve seen that proliferate the sector in the last few years and Liverpool have been a good example of that across the board,” he exclusively told Liverpool News.
“The multi-club, multi-sport, multi-propositions it can give you and the leverage you can do from that and this kind of story seems to fit in with that narrative.
“They’re going to be a club going through a big transition in the summer, big managerial departure, movement in and around the boardroom, they’ve bought a couple of key faces back and some really smart people there.
“It will be a tricky summer to navigate but this again is another example of that looking at the multi-club model and how a club such as Liverpool can benefit from it in the future.”

Liverpool changes coming at Anfield
With Jurgen Klopp already confirming his summer exit from the club, the appointment of Michael Edwards above him was key to taking the next steps.
Richard Hughes has already been appointed into a new role from Bournemouth, with Marques next to follow through the double doors.
It may be a tricky summer ahead, but it is definitely the start of a new era.
In other Liverpool news, Taylor Hinds’ return from injury was a silver lining to a heavy defeat to Manchester City.
