Liverpool: Roy Keane wowed by Luis Diaz in 2-1 win v Brighton live on Sky Sports

Roy Keane was left impressed by Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz against Brighton in the 2-1 win at Anfield on Sunday 31 March.

The Sky Sports pundit heaped praise on the Reds, who didn’t panic after going behind to a very early Danny Welbeck goal against the Seagulls.

It was Diaz who restored parity later in the first half, as he volleyed home after Mohamed Salah headed the ball back into danger.

Speaking live on Sky Sports, as shared by their live blog [31 March, 14:57], Keane was impressed by what he saw in the comeback.

“Liverpool didn’t panic,” he said.

“The senior players kept calm. They deserved to get back into the game. Credit to Diaz, he gambles. It’s not a great ball into the box but he keeps himself onside, lovely one-touch finish.”

Keane isn’t one of those known for wanting to praise Liverpool, so you know the Colombian must have been the pick of the bunch at Anfield.

With injuries ripping through the squad every single week, Andy Robertson the latest of those, it is down to the big names left to carry them through.

Diaz and Salah certainly did just that, both scoring and being involved in everything that was good.

His two key passes and 52 touches were pivotal to picking up all three points, taking the Reds back to the top of the table for the time being.

At this stage of the season, it is all about picking up three points, and Diaz was one of those who made sure that happened on a potentially tricky afternoon.
