Liverpool could benefit after PGA Tour investment update from Fenway Sports Group – Finance Expert

Dan Plumley has insisted that Liverpool could benefit after Fenway Sports Group invested heavily into the PGA Tour.

It was shared by the Evening Standard at the end of January that a £2.3billion investment had been confirmed, with John Henry flying to the Caribbean in the last two weeks for more talks [Liverpool World].

The football finance expert admitted the investment fits into the bigger picture of operations at FSG, with brand propositions on the cards which may help the Reds.

“It is how it ties into the bigger picture of FSG operations,” he exclusively told Liverpool News.

“We have said this before looking at their play on multi-sport, multi-club, whether it is ownership or having investment in, it branches much beyond football.

That fits with their background and the American model of sport, I guess from the PGA point of view, there would certainly be some leveraging of Liverpool and their other clubs and things, there will be a brand proposition and maybe give Liverpool leverage in the golf market.

There is certainly a brand proposition there, financially, how that plays out depends on the way FSG wants to structure it and whether or not that money goes back into Liverpool Football Club is anyone’s guess, but certainly when you look at these deals, you’re looking at the synergy between the organisations and the potential to leverage the club further or to leverage off the back of the organisation you’re invested in to help the club.

It is much bigger with FSG, they have lots of clubs and lots of sports they are involved in.”

Liverpool to benefit from FSG developments?

There are plenty of changes in the pipeline at Anfield, with work on the stadium being followed by the impending exit of Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

With numerous appointments already being confirmed, it is brilliant to see that none of it has affected FSG and Henry from moving forward with their plans.
