Liverpool: Sky Sports share Joe Gomez development ahead of England v Belgium
Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is set for more minutes as England take on Belgium at Wembley on 26 March, according to Sky Sports.
It is shared that the centre-back will start on the bench for Gareth Southgate, as he did in the 1-0 defeat against Brazil over the weekend.
After coming on for the final 33 minutes in that one, Gomez will get a longer chance to impress after his first call-up to the Three Lions in years.
Jurgen Klopp will be watching closely for Liverpool
Gomez has proven himself to be very reliable at Anfield this season, but maybe not in the roles that he would have anticipated before it all kicked off.
Serious injuries to the likes of Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold has seen him occupy the full-back role more than playing centrally.
The latter is nearing a return from his problem though, and has been around the England squad and Southgate during the break despite not being able to play.
Belgium is another serious test for England ahead of a very busy summer, and Gomez will be hoping to put his best foot forward at a time when injuries have plagued the squad.

This will certainly be one to watch later, with England looking to bounce back at Wembley and Gomez looking to make sure this wasn’t a one-off call-up.
With Brighton coming up very shortly, another night with no new injuries would also be helpful.
In other Liverpool news, UEFA have reached a compensation settlement with a group of fans who took legal action over the Champions League final chaos in Paris.
