Liverpool: Real Madrid want Trent Alexander-Arnold as Fabrizio Romano shares transfer news

Real Madrid are watching Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold with talks yet to begin over a new contract at Anfield, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer journalist has reported that the Reds have not indicated a willingness to part ways with the right-back despite no fresh talks.

Alexander-Arnold’s current deal expires in 2025 at Anfield, although nothing has been shared on what he thinks about his potential next steps.

Alexander-Arnold set to leave Liverpool?

With Jurgen Klopp already confirming his decision to leave the club at the end of the season, it is uncertain how this will affect the playing squad.

Having gone through so much together since the German first arrived in 2015, Alexander-Arnold will no doubt have seen his feelings hit by the decision.

Lifting the Champions League and Premier League during that time will always be a highlight, but as a local boy, not many will be losing sleep about this right now.

Real Madrid are a huge draw in football though, and that is a risk.

With Jude Bellingham now playing over there too, it likely ticks another box for players looking to move across to the Bernabeu from England if they get the chance.

This is certainly one to watch, but with another year left on his contract, there is plenty of time for Alexander-Arnold to enter talks and agree on an extension.

In other Liverpool news, the Reds have stepped up their interest in a defender Klopp has wanted for two years.
