Liverpool injury news: Doctor issues Trent Alexander-Arnold update
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to return to full training at the end of March, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that there is not much information available about the intensity of the knee setback, other than it was misdiagnosed initially.
It is mooted to be a ligament injury and if he is on course to return by early April, as revealed by Jurgen Klopp on 15 March, he could target an individual training return during the international break.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Liverpool News 247: “Difficult to say much about the intensity other than it being a knee injury because the information has been so sparse.
“Originally, it was thought to be just a knock and that’s what the team said and then obviously he has missed a good chunk of time.
“My guess would be a ligament injury and if the early April return date is correct, I’d expect him back in full training by the end of March.
“He’ll perhaps be in individual training during the international break aiming to be in contention on the other side of it.“
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool both need Alexander-Arnold back from injury ASAP
The 25-year-old is having an incredible campaign for the Reds and Klopp has now started to deploy him in central midfield as well.
Given the England international’s passing ability and his positional sense of playing as a deep-lying midfielder, he has thrived in that position.
There is a possibility of him even playing there for England at EURO 2024 as Gareth Southgate will be looking for someone to play alongside Declan Rice in midfield.

However, Liverpool fans will want him back for the domestic and European campaign as there is a very realistic chance of a treble this season.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp wants the Reds to sign this player in the summer despite the fact he’s on his way out.
